Homeopathy, the way India regulates it

In India, homoeopathy is one of the systems recognised under the Ministry of Ayush, with its own degree (BHMS), its own national commission and a national register of practitioners. We arrange your visit around consultations with registered practitioners you choose.

A balanced view

Different countries, different positions

Homeopathy is recognised and regulated in India. Regulators elsewhere take different positions, and you should know that before you travel:

  • The UK's Advertising Standards Authority sets out what homeopathy advertisers may and may not claim (ASA guidance).
  • The US Federal Trade Commission requires the same standard of evidence for health claims about homeopathic products as for other products (FTC, 2016).
  • The NHS explains which complementary therapies it may offer, and why (NHS).

We share this so you can decide for yourself. We make no claims about what homeopathy can do.

Please read

  • We make no claim that homeopathy treats, cures, prevents or helps any disease or condition.
  • Homeopathy is not a substitute for care from your own doctor. Do not stop or change any prescribed medicine or treatment.
  • Check your home country's rules before bringing any remedies home.
  • Care Beyond Borders is not a medical provider and gives no medical advice.
